Since joining Sleep Number® in 1996, Pete Bils has been responsible for exploring the vital relationship between sleep and health. He continually investigates the use of new technologies to promote better sleep, such as computerized pressure mapping to demonstrate the effects of various sleep surfaces on the human body.
Bills has shared his expertise gained from nearly 20 years of sleep research with national and local media outlets, including HuffingtonPost Live, Fox & Friends, SHAPE, All You, The Doctors, Parents TV, New York Times Magazine, CNBC and Bloomberg News, among others.
He is the Immediate Past Chair of the Better Sleep Council, an organization devoted to educating people about the critical relationship between sleep, good health and quality of life. In addition, he is a member of the National Sleep Foundation and belongs to the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
Bills, his wife and daughters—and even his dog—all sleep on Sleep Number® beds. In his spare time, he embodies one of Sleep Number’s core beliefs … that sleep, diet and exercise are three important components of a healthy lifestyle. He is an avid runner and has participated in numerous marathons. He also loves to cook healthy Italian food for his family.
Bills provides sleep tips and shares the latest in sleep research via his Twitter handle @SleepGeekPete. His Sleep Number® setting is 25.
